Borsa İstanbul started to calculate BIST Sustainability Index which includes 15 companies, on November 4, 2014. VakıfBank became one of the four banks that are included in the index.
BIST Sustainability Index is launched to analyse the decisions of the companies regarding their operations according to an independent assessment system with international standards by revealing their approaches relating to the sustainability issues such as environment, global warming, depletion of natural resources, employee rights, occupational health and safety and corporate governance which are significant for both Turkey and the world.
